The Death of Death
To celebrate Halloween I am offering up this picture.
I am sad to announce the irony of this, but my Grim Reaper jack-o-lantern has expired.
His head has fallen off. He is caving in. And he is starting to grow mold.
He is dead.
The trash can is his temporary coffin until they cart him off to the dump.
Goodbye, dead Death. You will live on forever in the Pumpkin Carving video. You will not be forgotten.
Yes you will.
And to end the Halloween fun on a less nausiating (depending on how you look at it, I guess) note, I’m sharing this little JibJab project Michael made for his blog. I make a pretty fierce vampire, if I do say so myself. Watch out R-Patz. There’s a new vamp in town!
Happy Halloween!
No commentsIf… (Week 82)
This is week eighty-two in my personal “If… Project” in which I answer questions from the book “If… (Questions for the Game of Life)”
There are 125 pages of this book, each with four questions. I plan to take one page each week and answer the questions as thoroughly and honestly as I am able. In addition, I invite you to answer the questions along with me, whether it be in the comments section, your own personal blog, or just within your own thoughts.
Perhaps in doing so, we will get to know each other better, but even more importantly, get to know ourselves better.
This week’s questions:
If you could have been any sports figure from history, who would you want to have been?
Mary Lou Retton
If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?
Money would be nice, but I think I’d rather just have a dream job. It would give me emotional satisfaction and the money would come as well.
If you had to choose the prize for the best movie in history, what film would win?
Oh, this is such an awful answer, but I just love this movie, so I’m sticking with it. Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion
If you had to pick the worst movie in history, which would get the dubious honor?
I’ve only fallen asleep during one movie at a theater, so I guess by default, that one. Though, in its defense, I was exhausted before I even went in to see it and it was a midnight showing. So, while the movie may be completely brilliant, I’ll never know. The Talented Mr Ripley.
Those are my answers to this week’s questions. What are yours?

I meant to share this last week, but apparently old age is getting the better of me…
They changed the billboard across the street from my office, and now when I glance out the window, I’m greeted with this gigantic ball of creepy.
If… (Week 81)
This is week eighty-one in my personal “If… Project” in which I answer questions from the book “If… (Questions for the Game of Life)”

This week’s questions:
If you could choose one new symbol for your family crest, what would it be?
I didn’t even realize I had a family crest. Or even what it looks like if I do have one. So I can’t accurately make an adjustment to something to which I am completely ignorant to in the first place. But I would like to find a way to symbolize my commitment to demonstrating compassion to all animals on this planet.
If you could do any job in the world for one day, what would it be?
For one day? Then I would choose something I would kinda sorta maybe wanna do, but not something I’d want to do so much that one day wouldn’t be enough. Perhaps a tour guide on one of those double decker bus tours of NYC. It would be interesting knowing some of the details of things they know about the city and getting to see them while cruising around in a bus. But bad weather and obnoxious tourists would make it something I’m not sure I could handle for more than a day or so.
If you could be anywhere in history for one day, as someone famous from that time, where would you like to be, when, and as who?
I’m perfectly happy being here and now at the moment. And that’s very rare for me. So I’m going to just enjoy that while it lasts.
If you had to choose the best television show ever made, which one would you pick?
The best drama was My So-Called Life and the best comedy was The Golden Girls.
Those are my answers to this week’s questions. What are yours?

I was a little bored last night and decided to do a little experiment with my camera.
I propped open the living room window, set the camcorder on up on the sill, and proceed to record the view from my living room for the next seventy minutes.
Ran the video through iMovie, sped it up so that it was only one minute in length, threw some appropriate music behind it, and ended up with this little gem.
Not sure I’m 100% in love with this particular video (YouTube pretty much slaughtered the video quality), but it does make me wonder what other fun things I can do with time lapse video in the future. Now that I know it’s completely possible to do, the sky’s the limit, right?
If… (Week 80)
This is week eighty in my personal “If… Project” in which I answer questions from the book “If… (Questions for the Game of Life)”
There are 125 pages of this book, each with four questions. I plan to take one page each week and answer the questions as thoroughly and honestly as I am able. This week’s questions:
If you could go back in time, as yourself, to observe any single event from history, what would you want to witness?
I feel like I answered a very similar question to this in a previous week when I answered that I would have liked to have been at the opening of Disneyland in 1955. So, just to keep it a little fresh, I’ll pick something different this week.
I think being at the opening night of Rent would have been very special for me.
If you were to choose a musical instrument that best describes your character, what would it be?
Perhaps a piano. Pretty straight-forward and everyone can be comfortable listening to one. And it has the ability to take on so many characteristics and flavors depending on how it’s played.
If you had to exchange one physical attribute with someone in the room, who would you pick, and what would you exchange with them?
I have to stop doing these while I am alone, because questions like this one become completely pointless. So, I will look around at the photographs I have in the room and choose someone in them for this question.
I choose Norm, and I would choose his arms. For some reason I just can’t seem to get mine to the level I would like them, and he has nice ones.
If you had to cancel one month of the year forevermore, so that period of time no longer existed, which month would go?
I guess February for the simple reason that it would eliminate the least time from the year since it’s the shortest month. And no vital holidays would be eliminated in doing so. Valentine’s Day is not a vital holiday.
Those are my answers to this week’s questions. What are yours?
1 comment10 Years in NYC
Today marks my 10 year anniversary of moving to New York City.
Yay!
And I’ve made nothing of my life.
Sigh.
There’s still time, right? Right?!
