This is week thirty-five in my personal “If… Project” in which I answer questions from the book “If… (Questions for the Game of Life)”
There are 125 pages of this book, each with four questions. I plan to take one page each week and answer the questions as thoroughly and honestly as I am able. In addition, I invite you to answer the questions along with me, whether it be in the comments section, your own personal blog, or just within your own thoughts.
Perhaps in doing so, we will get to know each other better, but even more importantly, get to know ourselves better.
This week’s questions:
If you were to be the personal valet of any one man or woman from history, who would you want to work for?
I’d want to work for Samantha Brown. Not only do I love her to the point of mild obsession, but working for her would allow me to travel with her at all times. And I don’t know anyone else who’s traveled to as many places or as often as she, so she’s my pick.
If you could hire any architect alive or from history to design your dream house, who would you pick, and where would you build it?
I don’t know a thing about architects. The only one I can think of at this moment is Frank Lloyd Wright (how cliche), so I guess I have to pick him. But after doing a quick google search of some the houses he’s designed, I’m pretty happy with that choice. I would just demand there was a secret passage or two in the house. Perhaps one behind a grandfather clock like in Webster.
If you could have invented anything from history, what would you pick?
Post-Its.
If you could invent something that currently does not exist, what would it be?
I would definitely invent a teleportation device. The ability to instantly be anywhere on the planet would be a dream come true. I would be able to visit my family or travel to vacation destinations in an instant. I could wake up, teleport to Iowa for breakfast with my family. Then visit the Great Wall of China before hitting up a bistro in Paris for lunch. After that I could go snorkeling along the Great Barrier Reef. Take a quick nap in my own bed in NYC. Then have dinner in Brazil before hitting a nightclub in London. Then back home for bed.
Those are my answers to this week’s questions. What are yours?
