Room With A View

The other day I was looking out my living room window, and I discovered something that I had never noticed before. Almost two and a half years of living in this apartment and I’d never noticed it. I’m obviously an observant person.

If you press your face against the glass and look in a south-south-westerly direction, and if it’s autumn or winter and there are no leaves on the tree outside, then you can see some of the Manhattan skyline… including the Empire State Building!

I took a picture of it!

The brightly lit building about a third from the left is the Empire State Building. Just to the right of that is the MetLife Building. I think the building at the right edge of the picture is the GE Building. I recognize a few of the others, but am not sure what they are off the top of my head.

I’m gonna have to look into that so when people come over I can impress them with my view. But first I need to find a way to get rid of that elevated train track. Damn you, Amtrak!

I’m just hoping my landlord doesn’t know about this, because if he did, I’m sure he’d realize the property value of this place just skyrocketed and my rent would be raised, because who wouldn’t want an obstructed view like that?

I mean, for reals.
