That is the question.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted an entry that wasn’t about my Invisalign experiences or one of my “If…” entries.
I’ve been having a hard time lately trying to figure out what parts of my life are blog-worthy. And at the same time, trying to figure out which of those things are too important/personal to blog.
I don’t want to be one of those people who write entries like…
Today I slept through my alarm and was almost late for work. Yikes! I made it on time though. Thank goodness. I had a really good sandwich from the deli for lunch. I’ll have to get it more often. After work I went to the gym and watch Oprah while on the treadmill. I <3 her! Now I’m just watching tv and snacking on potato chips. I’m such a fattie! LOL. Peace out, guys!
And at the same time, I don’t want to be one of those people who go too far and write things like…
Today, my wife informed me that for the past year and a half she’s been having an affair with my brother. In our bed. It’s been happening while I’ve been taking our twin daughters to their weekly dance classes. I always wondered why she never wanted to take them, and now I know it’s because she would rather my brother be “taking her.”
And, oh yeah, I also found out today while the doctor was checking my prostate that I am a great candidate for anal bleaching. I’m definitely considering it! I’ll post some before and after pictures to show you what it’s like! You’re welcome!
Obviously, those are two extreme exaggerations, although anal bleaching could be fun. But I think they represent fairly well the two ends of the spectrum. Figuring out what is a bit more exciting than the first example, but not so personal that it becomes the second example is proving a bit harder than it really should be.
Mostly, it just becomes an issue when it involves someone else. I never know if I should be talking about something that involves another person without their permission, and constantly having to ask people “Is it okay if I mention blah blah in my blog?” isn’t my cup of tea.
What’s the general protocol for things like this? What’s the netiquette rule?
Anyway….
I guess there are a few things I’ve been up to recently.
I registered for the next Walt Disney World Marathon, which takes place in early/mid January. I’ve slowly started to do a little bit of training for it as well, though that’s been a bit unpleasant as the weather has been pretty hot lately. But last year I didn’t really start training until well into September, so I’m hoping that by starting a little earlier this year, things will go even smoother during this, my third marathon. But for the time being, I’m finding it more difficult than I would have hoped to get back into the swing of things.
After my first marathon I had stopped running completely until a few months before the second marathon and that lapse in training caused me some difficulty in getting back up to snuff. I had promised myself I wasn’t going to let that happen this time, but, well, old habits die hard and I fell victim again.
I made my reservations for the hotel as well, and will be staying at one of the resorts at which I haven’t yet stayed. I’m looking forward to that as I’ve always been interested in the idea of staying at each one of the resort hotels at least once.
In other news, my birthday is coming up, and I have absolutely nothing planned for it. Yet again. Last year, I had this great plan to go away for my birthday weekend, and then my flight ended up cancelled while I was sitting at the gate waiting to board, and the weekend was ruined. This year, I just have no great plan, and even if I did, I have no real funds with which to do it.
Not only has the Invisalign taken away a good chunk of change each month, but due to the horrific state of our national economy and the domino effect that has on business and personal lives, I’m no longer able to enjoy the same income I’ve grown accustomed to (and budgeted my entire life around). So I can’t really afford to do anything as extravagant or exciting as I would wish. I’m just going to have to do some creative thinking and see if I can find some cheap alternatives for an exciting birthday.
I have a five-day weekend off of work for it, and hate the idea of just spending them at home or around the city doing things I could do any time. I would love to possibly go somewhere nearby as a day trip (or a two day trip), but can’t come up with anything that tickles my fancy. I’m accepting any ideas you may have.
And in closing…
I think I’m gonna get my anus bleached tomorrow night. Peace out, guys!

So funny to see you wrote this post talking about protocol and netiquette. I wrote about that same question on my blog on August 5th here http://eatinglifeup.com/?p=113 and didn’t get much response from any of my friends or readers. I have come to the decision that I have to write it down to blog about it later when it isn’t so fresh and when possible protect anonymity as best I can.
How was the anus bleaching? Peace out!
